Message from WICUDA-USA Chairperson at 2025 Convention

Your Royal Majesty the Fon of Njirong,
Mayaah Tume of Ndu,
Mayaah Mary of Njirong,
Fai Ndimanga,
Esteemed Title Holders,
Distinguished Notables,
Beloved Wimbum Community, Guests, and Friends,

It is with profound joy and humility that I welcome you all to this momentous occasion — a day of celebration, reflection, and unity. Today, we gather not only to honor our vibrant culture but to pay tribute to the Mayaahs — the revered Queen Mothers who embody the spirit, strength, and soul of Mbumland.

This celebration echoes the powerful message delivered by Mayaah Nfor Mary of Njirong during the Virginia Convention in 2023. Her compelling speech on the plight and promise of the Mayaahs ignited a movement — one that has brought us here today. Mayaah, we thank you. Your voice has become a beacon, and because of you, WICUDA-USA proudly celebrates all Mayaahs today.

As we approach the close of 2025, I stand before you filled with immense gratitude, pride, and optimism. This year has been a defining chapter in our collective journey, and it is all thanks to you — our devoted members, both longstanding and new. Your unwavering support, active participation, and deep commitment are the lifeblood of WICUDA-USA.

To everyone present at the 2025 WICUDA-USA National Convention here in Dallas, Texas — thank you. These conventions are more than events; they are the heartbeat of our unity and progress. WICUDA-USA thrives because of your engagement. It exists because of you. Abee Yu Nger!

To the National Executive Council (NEC), the Board of Trustees (BOT), and all committee members — your tireless efforts, sleepless nights, and steadfast dedication have shaped WICUDA-USA into the proud institution it is today. You are the architects of our success.

Let us reflect on the promise we made together in Virginia in 2023 — a commitment to fairness, inclusion, collaboration, transparency, accountability, respect, time management, development, peace, and unity. These principles have guided us, and today, we witness the fruits of that shared vision.

Since then, WICUDA-USA has experienced unprecedented growth — record-breaking new registrations and the highest member return rate in our history. This success is a testament to our inclusive approach, grassroots outreach, and strong collaboration across branches. Today, WICUDA-USA is not just a name — it is a recognized force, both nationally and globally.

Together, we have made history. For the first time, we have centered our focus on the often-overlooked pillars of our community — our Queen Mothers. The Mayaah Empowerment Project is more than a socio-economic initiative; it is a symbol of dignity, unity, and hope. With over 66 Mayaahs benefiting from a half-million CFA franc grant, we are restoring honor and purpose. Phase I empowered 30 Mayaahs — one from each village in Mbumland. Phase II will ensure that no Mayaah is left behind. I urge each of you to support this noble cause and help make it a lasting legacy.

To our Financial Department — thank you for your transparency, accountability, and consistent updates. Your diligence is the backbone of our operations. As we embrace the digital age, I encourage you to continue exploring innovative ways to manage our finances with excellence.

Our Annual Convention has become our crown jewel — a celebration of culture, family, and unity. It is a sacred space where we reconnect with our roots, meet our royal families, and strengthen our bonds. On behalf of the NEC, I thank you for your generous donations, which sustain our operations and fund impactful projects back home. Your generosity is our strength.

Yet, challenges remain. Timely payment of annual dues is essential for effective planning. We believe this Dallas Convention will set a new standard for time management, with stricter guidelines to ensure better outcomes. We also have openings in various committees, and I encourage you to step forward — your service adds immense value to WICUDA-USA.

As we move forward, let us embrace the spirit of accountability and commitment to our shared goals. Each of us plays a vital role in the success of WICUDA-USA, and together, we can overcome any obstacles that lie ahead.

4. Minnesota 2026: A Celebration of Life and Unity

As we look ahead to Minnesota, let’s envision it not just as a convention but as a grand celebration:

Reconnect: Strengthen ties with old friends while welcoming new faces into our community.

Relax and Recharge: Enjoy a break free from fundraising, allowing us to focus on joy and togetherness.

Celebrate Our Resilience: Honor our culture, shared dreams, and the strength we derive from unity.

This event will fulfill a commitment made during the Virginia Convention — providing us with a much-needed pause to celebrate ourselves.

I would like to take a moment to recognize our youth — the future leaders of our community. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and passion are what will propel us into the next chapter of our journey. We encourage you to engage actively, share your ideas, and take ownership of your heritage. Your voice matters, and it is essential for the continuity of our culture and values.

To our esteemed elders and mentors, thank you for your wisdom and guidance. You are the custodians of our traditions, and your teachings inspire us to uphold our cultural identity. Let us continue to learn from one another as we bridge the gap between generations.

As we celebrate today, let us also remember those who have come before us — the pioneers who laid the foundation for WICUDA-USA. Their sacrifices and dedication have paved the way for our achievements. We honor their legacy by striving for excellence in all that we do.

In closing, I urge each of you to carry the spirit of this celebration beyond today. Let us remain united in our purpose, committed to uplifting one another and our beloved Mbumland. Together, we can create a future that reflects our values, honors our heritage, and empowers every member of our community.

Thank you once again for being here today. May our gathering strengthen our bonds and inspire us to continue our work with passion and dedication.

Abee Yu Nger!
